Read why the Zerodur material makes the perfect telescope mirror substraight. This system will keep up with any 6" APO Refractor out there and with NO COLOR error!! It has the 98+ coatings as well. This scope has smaller brighter star points than any 8" or 10" inch it has been tested with. It has a 2" all metal focuser with a 1-1/4" adapter. The obstruction has been kept below 18% and is on a 3 vane super thin spider for the secondary. The secondary is flat to 1/20 wave and is 96%+ coated on Quarts. This is a no compromise telescope all the way. I am selling it and the LX200 below as well as other items to purchase the Meade 16" LX200. I built this scope from the ground up, including two years of work on the mirror. All test where performed with the OpticalBase Software also sold by University Optics. The optics have high transmission coatings by QSP Optical. The unit has been in a sealed observatory from purchase and is in perfect like new condition. It is a LX200 unit and one of the few serial numbered OTAs you will find. This info can be confirmed by Scott Roberts of Meade Corporation. It includes a Meade Blue metal dew shield and the wedge. It also has the two inch mirror diagonal not the 1-1/4. It also includes the electric focuser as well as a group of Series 4000 eyepieces. The complete system has better than 1/8 on the wavefront. The 2000 eclipse image that was shown in Sky & Telescope was said to be one of the sharpest eclipse images they had seen! PLEASE CONTACT ME FOR OTHER INFORMATION.

These eyepieces are like new and are all wonderful eyepieces. They are all manufactured in Japan. I know some of the newest ones are made in Taiwan, but these are the Japan versions! I am selling these eyepieces to fund new CCD equipment. For the money I don't think you can purchase better eyepieces than these. The tube is from the scope shown below. Another person purchased the scope and already had the tube he wanted to use. Also there was the problem of shipping such a large piece. This is why I have the tube left over. The tube is between 9 months to a year old (if memory serves). It has been house kept. It was setup with a Meade 16" mirror that I had refigured which was just under F4.8. The specs are listed below:

Daryl decided to develop OpticalBase 1.0 after grinding several mirrors and tiring from repeated calculations during testing. The source for the program was Jean Texereau's book, "How To Make A Telescope." With a simple Foucault tester and OpticalBase 1.0, one can know beyond question whether he/she has purchased the objective promised by the manufacturer or whether he/she has fashioned his/her own objective to perform to the very limit for its size and F/ratio. OpticalBase 1.0 includes pulldown/popup menus, full mouse support, popup calculator/calendar-diary, context-sensitive help, memo pads (for figuring notes, etc...), eyepiece calculator, secondary size & obstruction calculator. OpticalBase also includes full graphing support for Millies-Lacroix Envelope, Transverse Aberration and Wavefront Profile. You simply can't buy a more complete design and testing package.
